Japan, an enchanting island nation, offers a captivating blend of densely populated cities, imperial palaces, majestic mountains, serene shrines, and thousands of temples. Furthermore, the renowned Shinkansen bullet trains seamlessly connect the main islands of Kyushu, Honshu, and Hokkaido. Among these islands, Tokyo, the capital city, stands tall with its impressive skyline, vibrant shopping scene, and iconic pop culture. The Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme (JET) is a government initiative aimed at placing approximately 5000 English language teachers in schools across Japan.
The primary objective of this teaching program is to enhance the English language skills of young individuals. To achieve this, the JET program offers three different types of positions. The majority of applicants are placed as Assistant Language Teachers (ALT) by the program organizers. However, individuals with advanced Japanese language skills may apply for a Coordinator of International Relations (CIR) position. Additionally, sports professionals have the opportunity to apply for the role of Sports Exchange Advisor (SEA) with the program organizers.
