Central European Teaching Programme

The Central European Teaching Programme (CETP) in Hungary has a long-standing history of placing applicants in schools across the country as English language teachers. This program offers the following features:

 

  • Open to native English speakers from the US, Canada, UK, and various European countries.
  • No upper age limit—applicants of all age groups are welcome.

Programme Details

  • The teaching program spans 10 months, from September to mid-June, and includes a one-week orientation before the contract begins. Alternatively, a six-month contract from January to June is also available.
  • Teachers receive a local teacher’s salary, with no taxes payable, and national health insurance is included. The program organizers provide payment during holidays, and the work visa allows for travel across Europe.
  • Furnished accommodation, including utilities, is provided by the program organizers for the duration of the stay.
  • The program organizers can accommodate placing partners, friends, or families together.

To apply for the CETP, please visit the official CETP website for further information. In order to be considered for acceptance into the program, you must also provide the following documents:

 

  • TEFL TESOL certificate, which includes 20 hours of practical classroom teaching.
  • A doctor’s letter confirming good health.
  • A notarized copy of your university diploma/degree.
  • A background check.
